No boxspring needed and it has 14" of under bed storage.
Here a few pictures of it fully assembled, but it also can be taken apart into 4 flat pieces for easy storage. It is a very secure fit with no sliding or squeaking. Also included are the 4 durable inserts to provide a smooth surface for your mattress to sit on. The frame is all black including the legs which are round and flat on the bottom. Sorry, the pictures show them sitting on sliders (white part).
