This is a genuine 22" x 28" U.S. half sheet ORIGINAL MOVIE POSTER issued by the studio when the film was released and meant for theatrical display.
Rolled, never folded.
National Screen Service (NSS) issued.
BEWARE OF REPRODUCTIONS
These can be very difficult to find in any condition! A long time can go by without one of these coming up for sale.
Normally, half sheets were printed in far fewer numbers than one sheets making them much rarer. Sometimes they even sell for more than the one sheet. Collectors love them because they can display two of them in the same space as a one sheet. Printed on card stock, studios stopped issuing half sheets in the early 1980's.
If a vintage poster is in terrific unrestored condition like this one, many experienced collectors will place a premium on it (when compared to a linen backed/restored one). Most experienced collectors prefer unrestored items to restored ones because they believe they will appreciate more in value.
When buying collectibles it is always wise to buy "the best of the best" as they stand a greater chance of appreciation. This poster is considered to be within that class and is definitely INVESTMENT QUALITY.
