Vintage 1974 Gitane Tour de France, 23-1/2” (60 cm) frame. The frame is all 531 Reynolds steel tubes, double butted main tubes, and spear-point lugs. Stronglight Super Competition 93 crankset (42-52, 170 mm arms) and headset. Rare Huret Jubilee derailleurs, Mavic Championnat du Monde tubular rims with Campagnolo Nuovo Record high flange 36-spoke hubs, Mafac center pull brakes, Cinelli Campion del Mondo handlebars (64-42) and Cinelli 11 cm stem, Brooks B17 saddle. Campagnolo Nuovo Record downtube shifters. Bottle cage lugs on downtube. Anpi seat post. Frame was repainted in the ‘80s by Tom Kellogg in Imron black epoxy. Original owner.
The crappy original paint as well as the flexy Simplex derailleurs were improved by replacement. Bike needs cleaning and polishing and probably new tires. Bike was raced (frame never damaged) in the late '70s and has been hanging in my basement for decades $250.
